I’m experimenting with getting various samples and VST’s working with EigenD to get used to working with them, but since I’m using EigenD on my laptop with Windows, I’m running into some limitations since that version of EigenD is 32-bit only. Are there any work-arounds or methods to get 64-bit DAW’s and other programs to communicate with EigenD? Also, will there be any updates to EigenD that will extend support to 64-bit Windows in due time I’m not sure how often Eigenlabs updates their software.

I’m a Literature student, artist, and instrument collector. Music has always been a big part of my life, since it’s kind of tradition in my family for every kid to learn to play an instrument. I’m just one of said kids that decided to keep with it.
I have a passion for the arts, particularly in how art styles vary between cultures and how they allow people to communicate with and learn about each other. In my case, I enjoy writing, music, and wire sculpting, and I like to experiment with other art forms as well given the opportunity!
My grandfather collected instruments, and since my family and I moved in with him while I was young, I had seen and handled (with his permission) a number of instruments in his collection. I was amazed at all the different types of instruments, but a majority of them have been neglected, gathering dust and falling into disrepair. I decided to start my own collection, but with the goal of learning to play the instruments I have and sharing their music and history with others. I particularly enjoy the more obscure instruments that aren’t as well-known around where I live, which brings me to the Eigenharp.
I learned about the Eigenharp a few years ago, and had been quietly observing it for a long time before I finally made the jump and purchased a Tau around a year ago. It’s my first foray into electronic instruments, which is an interesting choice for me because electronics have a habit of malfunctioning in unusual ways in my presence. I’ve had a great time with it so far, picking it up in my free time on the rare occasions I’m not swamped with studying and work. I’m planning on devoting more time to my music to learn the Eigenharp, along with some other instruments in my small collection I’m gradually accruing. I want to share my work in due time to help spread awareness of some of the amazing instruments and styles of music, and maybe motivate others to play as well.
Hello!
Hello!
Still rather new to the Eigenharp, but having a blast learning what I can put into it! Got a Tau some time ago. I’ve been experimenting with VST’s and saw mention of Native Instruments’ Kontakt and Reaktor 6 players. When I have Eigend search them out, though, they come back as failed plugins. I’ve seen this happen with a couple other VST’s I tried out as well. I saw something on the other forums mentioning that Eigend maybe doesn’t support 64-bit plugins, so that’s my best guess on why it doesn’t work. Anybody have advice on how to troubleshoot failed plugins or get them working?

Have a strange tech issue, and looking for some insight.
My main rig is a Win10 64 rig. Well, the other day, inexplicably my Tau stopped working. The PSU shows up in device manager, but it can’t connect to EigenD.
I have tried reinstalling the drivers, EigenD, tried different USB ports, Different versions of the driver, tried the “with audio capable firmware” driver, and the with “extension mode firmware” driver, versions 1, 1.0.1, completely uninstalling and scrubbing drivers and files, and reinstalling, 8 different USB ports and cable combos… Nothing.
Move it over to a laptop, running same versions, and everything works. It just simply will not work whatsoever on my main rig, and WAS working fine up until Thursday. No, no windows update in that time, and no other USB device is having trouble.
So, before I have to throw a “hail mary” and completely reinstall my OS hoping that the problem goes away, can anyone think of ANYTHING that would cause this? Have never had this problem before, and can’t duplicate it on any other machine. Everything looks like it checks out hardware wise, and the device detects and clearly the driver loads, but EigenD simply cannot see it on this machine.
Any ideas would be appreciated. I’d rather not spend a day or two reinstalling all my audio stuff because of one weird driver issue.

Surge Synth went Open Source.
This looks really promising!
This synth was developed by one of the Bitwig founders and is available as open source since a few days.

It even provides MPE support in the latest (unreleased) version!
Sounds like a candidate to put into the EigenD resource package, so any layout can just assume it’s there?

I just installed EigenD on my Raspberry Pi running Raspbian Stretch.
I just installed EigenD on my Raspberry Pi running Raspbian Stretch. I’m no linux guy, so to help other newbies I made a suggestion for updated rPI install instructions:
4.5 – Linux (ARM)
Installing on Raspbian Stretch
PREPARATIONS
Copy “EigenD-gpl-2.1.7-community-arm.deb” and “linux_eigend.sh.txt” to a memory stick. Rename “linux_eigend.sh.txt” to “linux_eigend.sh”.
INSTALLING
Plug the memory stick into the Raspberry. It should be mounted automatically with the path “/media/pi/(name of stick)”.
To install EigenPi, type “cd /media/pi/(name of stick)” and then “sudo dpkg -i EigenD-gpl-2.1.7-community-arm.deb”. EigenD should now reside in /usr/local/pi/release-2.1.7-community
Copy the startup script linux_eigend.sh to the EigenD folder by typing “sudo cp /media/pi/(name of stick)/linux_eigend.sh /usr/local/pi/release-2.1.7-community”.
Set some file access rights needed by EigenD by typing “sudo chmod 666 /dev/bus/usb//“. Then “sudo chmod 755 /usr/local/pi/release-2.1.7-community/linux_eigend.sh”.
To start EigenD, type “/usr/local/pi/release-2.1.7-community/linux_eigend.sh”. The VST plugin scanning will hang, but still try to do it once so you won’t be asked again. Cancel the big factory preset when it tries to load and select the blank one as default instead.
User setups are stored at “/home/pi/.Eigenlabs/2.1.7-community/Setups”.
To make EigenD automatically run on desktop start, type “nano /home/pi/.config/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart” and add “@/usr/local/pi/release-2.1.7/linux_eigend.sh &” to the bottom of that file.
About to receive a used Pico
About to receive a used Pico … all insights and help gratefully received (hoping to use it on a Mac running High Sierra)
Hi!
Hi!
My friend just gave me his pico (he has never used it) and I’m setting it up. I’ve spent several days going through the web, forum, wikis, g+ groups and github. I need help because I only manage to play one setup with one instrument
My current status is this:
– I have a Mac Book Air with MacOS High Sierra 10.13.6
– After many crashes i managed to instal the EigenD, following the instructions for the latest community release (http://www.eigenlabs.com/forum/threads/id/1507/?page=1#snap_post12346)
– Now when I plug the Pico it turns on. It loads the standard setup but no sound. – The only setup that works is Example Setups – Modular Synth (where there’s only 1 instrument)
– The Eigen Browser shows only Factory Loops and User Loops folder but both are empty
I also tried it in a Windows laptop I have. There I can see all kinds of setups in the browser, but I never managed to get any sound out of it…
If anybody can help I’d appreciate it!
